Poor body image during pregnancy associated with shorter breastfeeding rates

This research story looked at our research which showed that the more concerns a pregnant woman had about her changing body during pregnancy, the less likely she was to plan to breastfeed, or if she did start, she breastfed for a shorter duration.

We had some great media space with this story, my favourite being a journalist who visited a local breastfeeding group to talk to them about the research. They had lots of great advice for pregnant and new mums and had some lovely photos taken.

I also spoke on local and national radio about the research and hope I managed to chastise the media suitably for putting too much pressure on new mums!
